Wedding announcements, by airmail
I was recently commissioned by some friends to design their wedding invitation set. They had chosen a color palette, but otherwise, hadn't made any firm decisions as far as themes, imagery and design.
The save the date was the first piece in the set, printed on a magnet so that it would be a constant reminder of the upcoming nuptials in kitchens of friends and family. The save the dates set the tone for the direction of the design, featuring a high-contrast illustration of the bride and groom, bright color palette, and postage-stamp imagery which became a major theme throughout the rest of the printed materials.
The wedding invitation was next; a 4-panel folded self-mailer with a perforated tear-off RSVP card. The design themes established in the save the date were carried over to this piece which features more postage/air mail imagery as well as a new high-contrast portrait of the couple. The wedding weekend itinerary and the map to the event highlight the theme's playful font selection and illustrations.
There's lots more to come for this set so please check back again soon!
